Natural Relief for PMS and Peri Menopause

Updated: Jun 24, 2019

Whether you’re dealing with PMS or peri menopause (the transitional period leading up to menopause); symptoms like bloating, cramping, mood changes, and fatigue can drastically interfere with daily life during those hormonal fluctuations. Personally I’m struggling with early onset peri menopause, which not only makes PMS symptoms more severe but adds on additional symptoms like hot flashes, extreme fatigue, increased anxiety, and breast pain. This transitional period towards menopause can unfortunately last anywhere between a few months or a few years and can even last as long as ten years! I'm reluctant to try hormone therapy treatments, so I’ve been searching for some natural relief.

I'm happy to say I've found some effective all-natural relief with changes in my diet, herbal supplements, relaxation techniques, aromatherapy, and most recently with the Mystical Blossoms Namaste Sexy Balm (pictured) formulated specifically for PMS and menopause relief. This topical treatment addresses several different PMS and menopause symptoms, and it really does work! Let's take a look at some of the key ingredients in the Namaste Sexy Balm.

Geranium Essential Oil - This essential oil has been used to help balance hormones, eliminate excess water that can cause bloating, and has even been used to treat endometriosis pain. A clinical trial on the effects of geranium aromatherapy concluded that when used in massage therapy, geranium helped ease both mental and physical symptoms related to PMS.

Clary Sage Essential Oil - The various health benefits of clary sage essential oil include the reduction of the stress hormone cortisol, an increase in relaxation, and perhaps even a reduction in hot flashes due to it's sclareol content, which mimics the effects of estrogen in the body.

My hot flashes had become so severe that I was frequently dizzy, nauseous, and even passed out a few times.

I'm happy to report that I haven't had a single hot flash since I started using the Namaste Sexy Balm, which has been a huge relief!

Kava Kava Root - A popular stress-relieving root, kava kava helps to keep your mind sharp while relaxing the body, which is very helpful during hormonal fluctuations, as another annoying symptom that can come with both PMS and peri menopause is brain fog. When applied topically, kava kava can ease tight muscles, stress, tension, pain, and muscle spasms.

Willow Bark - also known as nature's aspirin, has been used for centuries as an all-natural pain reliever. Because willow bark can be applied topically, it's a great alternative for pain relief that won't cause damage to the digestive system the way over-the-counter aspirin can.

Other natural ingredients in the balm, like chamomile and lavender, help to relieve stress; while ginger further eases inflammation and pain. I've been using the balm on my tense shoulders and lower back as well as for cramps and sore breasts, and it has been very effective at helping to both reduce muscle tension and relieve some of my pain.

Whether you're looking for all-natural relief, or if you are on medication and could still use a little more help with easing your PMS and/or peri menopause symptoms; try some deep relaxation breathing, a balanced diet, aromatherapy, and topical treatments like the Namaste Sexy Balm. It comes in a small reusable glass jar, and a little goes a long way, so one jar is plenty to last several weeks.
