Review: Cris's Blends All-Natural Deodorant

The brands I review always check at least one or two boxes, like being organic or cruelty-free. Cris's Blends checks all of the boxes for me with their Zero Waste Natural Deodorants. They're organic and all natural, vegan and cruelty-free; and as the name suggests, they come in zero-waste packaging! Disclosure: Featured products were provided complimentary for testing purposes. This article includes paid promotion.

I can't say I was surprised to learn that the beauty industry creates 120 billion units of packaging per year, the majority of which is made from plastic. Having received my beauty products primarily online from indie beauty brands since I began this blog, I have the advantage of being exposed to beauty brands with cleaner ingredients and eco-friendly practices. Though with a single trip to the grocery store, I'm quickly reminded that personal care shelves are packed with plastic, most of which is unnecessarily double-packaged in plastic wrap or the kind of waxed cardboard that cannot be recycled. The zero-waste deodorant tubes at Cris's Blends aren't just made with recyclable cardboard, they're 100% compostable as well.

But let's talk about the deodorant itself for just a minute, because it's one of my favorites when it comes to natural deodorant. At Cris's Blends, they steer clear of aluminum, GMO's, and synthetic fragrances. Their non-toxic deodorants are instead made with plant-based ingredients like shea butter, arrow root powder, and essential oils. These natural eco-friendly deodorants come in several different scents including Geranium & Ylang Ylang, Patchouli & Charcoal, Basil & Cypress, and Lavender. Currently on sale for under $10 a piece, they're quite affordable too.

I'm grateful for brands like Cris's Blends for offering products I can feel good about purchasing. We can blame big companies for creating so much plastic waste, but as consumers, we do have the power to demand better. The more we purchase from eco-conscious brands, the more likely we are to see change.
