Let's face it, a lot of things have changed in the last month. Though my work routine may differ for the time being, a few things remain the same. One thing that is always a constant for me, and a relaxing one at that, is my skincare routine. And while I'm spending much less time outside of the home, my a.m. skincare routine is exactly the same, including my sunblock products.
Especially if you spend your day sitting next to a window or in a well-lit room with large windows, there is one key reason why you still need to wear sunscreen indoors. Windows are capable of blocking UVB rays but not UVA. While it's the UVB rays which are most responsible for photo-aging, the UVA rays can penetrate more deeply into the skin, increasing the risk of skin cancer.
I've been using the L'BRI PURE n' NATURAL Natural Broad Spectrum Sunscreen with an SPF 30, and I'm loving the formula. Made with zinc oxide, it excludes common sunblock ingredients like oxybenzone, which can act as a hormone disrupter. I love that the L'BRI sunscreen leaves out harmful ingredients, and it goes a step further to include soothing skin-loving ingredients like aloe, chamomile, and peppermint.
While you may be more likely to use this sunscreen on your body, I've been enjoying it in my facial care routine as well. It has a lightweight, non-greasy texture and it doesn't leave a chalky finish either. I always use a heavier face cream and a face oil at night, but since I tend to use the lighter L'BRI Gentle Moisture Lotion in the a.m., this sunscreen pairs perfectly with my morning routine. My favorite part is that instead of the typical sunscreen scent, this one has a light and natural citrus fragrance!
In addition to the sunscreen lotion, I've been using the L'BRI Lip Protection SPF 30. It's just as important to protect your lips from the sun, and the L'BRI lip balm is packed with nourishing and moisturizing ingredients such as jojoba oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter. The added orange oil provides an uplifting fresh scent.
Whether you're working from home or just staying in, I hope you're remembering to use your sun care products. And I do hope you're practicing some self care as well. How has your beauty routine changed with the recent events? I'd love to hear about it in the comment section below!
