Review: Noan Beauty's Natural Vegan Makeup

Updated: May 15

I recently tried a few botanical facial serums from Noan Beauty and really enjoyed them. (You can see that review on my previous Beauty Edit.) I was happy to try several of their makeup products as well. Noan offers a wide variety of vegan and cruelty-free skincare and makeup made with natural plant-based ingredients. Disclosure: Thank you to Noan for providing these items complimentary as part of a paid collaboration.

This first look I created with Noan was a big hit on Instagram, and it wouldn't be complete without their Shine Face & Body hydrating primer serum. The aloe vera in Shine provides hydration, while ultra-fine reflective particles catch the light in all the right places for a noticeable yet natural-looking highlight.

I love that it offers a natural and breathable finish that doesn't clog pores. In fact, having aloe in the ingredients makes it pull double duty as a blemish-fighting serum. Spoiler alert - this product is definitely going on my 2020 Beauty Awards list!

Made with shea butter, coconut oil, and olive oil and infused with nourishing hemp seed oil; the Noan Cocoa Kiss Hemp Lip Gloss (also pictured) is very moisturizing and leaves a beautiful sheen. Deeply pigmented and creamy in texture, it's rather like a glossy liquid lipstick. Even better, it has a natural cocoa scent, hence the name Cocoa Kiss. I'm so glad I got to try this in the "Cherry" shade. The perfect cool-toned red, this is the kind of classic red lip color that would look great on anyone.

The more subtle lip color pictured here is the Noan Vanilla Bean Lipstick. It's a very moisturizing lipstick made with shea butter, sweet almond oil, and plant-derived waxes like candelilla (a great vegan option to beeswax). This cool-toned pink called "flirt" is a beautiful nude pink that works for both light and dark skin tones. It's subtle, but unlike most lighter pink nudes, it won't wash out your complexion. It's definitely going to be a favorite of mine for everyday wear.

This Enchanted Forest Eye Shadow Palette is versatile for both everyday wear and a night out or special occasion. It includes a warm brown, and shimmery golden yellow, and an olive in both matte and shimmer.

Personally, I feel that the muted tones and buildable coverage are a plus in this palette. I've seen so many green and yellow eyeshadow palettes trending this year, though I find most of them to be a bit intimidating. If like me, you are new to this color range but really want to get in on the trend, give this Noan Enchanted Forest Eye Shadow palette a try. When you're ready to go bold with the look, simply apply with a wet brush for more intense color.

Another favorite of mine from Noan is their Bronzer in Cocoa. This all-natural formula contains cacao powder, hibiscus flower, and cinnamon. Yes, it smells amazing! While I usually like a warm-toned shimmery bronzer on my cheeks, when it comes to contouring my jawline, a more natural cool-toned bronzer like this one is a must!

When I'm ready to take off my makeup, I always prefer a natural oil cleanser. The Noan organic natural Makeup Remover is made with sweet almond oil, castor oil, and chamomile. Rich in vitamins A, B and E; it's soothing and moisturizing on the skin while it also helps nourish eyelashes and eyebrows. It's an effective yet gentle makeup remover, and I really appreciate that it doesn't have any added fragrance or even essential oils, so it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes.

As each and every one of the Noan beauty products have become favorites in my makeup bag, I really cannot recommend this brand enough, especially if you're trying to make the switch to organic and cruelty-free. With an average price point of $20, it's an affordable way to build up a healthier makeup collection.
