The Beauty Edit: Krisztina's August Beauty Faves

Happy September! Depending on your preference, you're either clinging to the final days of Summer or pretending it's already Fall. Since my husband and I are all about Fall and the holidays to come, I'm very much looking forward to grabbing my basic PSL at Starbucks while pouring over fall fashion magazines.

I'm still wondering when my back will allow for a proper shopping trip or a date, but at least it's finally a possibility, thanks to physical therapy. I just need another one of my better days as far as my back pain goes (it was acting up a bit this weekend), and I'll brave a short outing.

Despite the appointments, and one painful back shot that has yet to show much benefit, I've been pushing forward with work, because I really do love it. I was able to review so many wonderful product in August, so let's dive in, because this is a long one...you may want to grab a cup of coffee and get comfy.

I previously tried the Biosphère Naturel body lotion, and I was very impressed, so I knew I'd love their face creams too. Biosphère Naturel is a French beauty brand that provides clean and cruelty-free luxury skincare, made in the Occitanie region in the south of France. Testing the Biosphère Naturel Lumière Crème Jour day cream and the Jeunesse Crème Anti Age night cream has been such a luxurious treat indeed.

The Lumière Crème Jour day cream is made with organic botanicals like water lily root extract to help soothe and hydrate, while the skincare benefits of bamboo extract include an antioxidant boost and a protective skin barrier. I loved the mattifying and oil-controlling properties and the light lotus blossom scent! It's the perfect day cream for Summer, or anytime if you have oily/combination skin.

The Biosphère Natural Jeunesse Crème Anti Age is an organic anti-aging and all-in-one night cream that hydrates, nourishes, balances, and renews. Organic rose water, argan oil, shea butter, neroli, plankton extract, rosemary extract, and raspberry extract provide various nourishing vitamins and fatty acids. The skincare benefits of raspberry extract provide added moisturizing and anti-aging properties. My skin was immediately much softer as well as plump and radiant the following morning, After a few weeks of use, I noticed even my deeper stubborn wrinkles had diminished.

I tried a few different makeup products this month and one of my favorites was from Colour Boss Cosmetics. This trendy beauty brand was created for the everyday glamour boss who not only works hard, but looks great while doing it. I like to think I fit into that category. At Colour Boss they offer clean, cruelty free, and vegan lipsticks, liquid matte lipsticks, and lip pencils.

With pre-Fall beauty on the brain, I was thrilled to try the Colour Boss Flawless Lipstick in Cabernet. It's such a lovely easy-to-wear formula that has a light yet buildable coverage. Made with a blend of natural oils, the Colour Boss lipstick glides on so smoothly and provides intense hydration. You really don't even need lip balm with this lipstick. And as you can see, Cabernet is such a beautiful shade!

In addition to the beautiful colors and impressive formulas, a portion of each sale at Colour Boss is donated to the Hope & Healing Center & Institute to help raise awareness & treat mental health conditions. I've previously mentioned on the blog that I struggle with anxiety disorder and PTSD. Any organization that aids in providing mental health is a cause that really means a lot to me.

Whenever I find myself feeling anxious, I love to wind down with a relaxing bath, a scented candle, and some skincare self-care. I recently tried several products from Witch in the Woods Modern Botanicals and found them to be very relaxing and calming. This Green Tea & Lemongrass Soy Candle for example, has such a soothing and uplifting lemon scent. All of the soy candles at Witch in the Woods are hand-poured and scented with fine fragrance oils and natural essential oils.

My favorite way to wind down right after a warm bath is with a scented body butter or body oil. The Witch in the Woods Botanical Body Oil is both nourishing and hydrating, scented with pure essential oils of rosemary and lavender to calm the mind and uplift your mood. Lavender and mint make for an equally-impressive duo in the Witch in the Woods Lavender Mint Lip Balm. Peppermint essential oil is great for conditioning the lips and can even have a slight plumping effect. Made with sweet almond oil, shea butter, castor oil, and beeswax; it's a very moisturizing lip balm.

Of course facial care is another way that I like to use skincare to relax. Even on a busy Monday (especially on a busy Monday), using my rose quartz roller or putting on a great face mask forces me to slow down and practice a little self indulgence. And whenever I want to feel truly luxurious, I grab one of my HAUTO products. I love that they're vegan, cruelty-free, multi-functional, eco-conscious, and always so luxurious. They're proof that a botanical-based and eco-friendly skincare line can also be very sleek and modern.

For my combination/oily/acne prone skin, a clay and charcoal mask is my go-to, and lately I'm all about this HAUTO SILK Triple Face Mask. Everything else I've tried at HAUTO is so effective, and this clay mask was no different. It has kaolin clay to help detoxify and soothe the skin and control excess oil, and charcoal to help deeply cleanse pores. The smooth, cool texture is such a treat; and the floral scent makes the experience even better. This clay mask always leaves my face looking more clean and calm, and unlike some clay masks, it never dries out my skin.

For some much-needed hydration for my hair, I've been using the Coconut Milk Moisturizing Collection from Purezero Natural Hair Care. Both the Coconut Milk Moisturizing Shampoo and the Coconut Milk Moisturizing Conditioner make washing my hair feel like less of a chore and more like an indulgence. This clean and cruelty-free hair care line provides nourishing vitamins, natural amino acids, and restorative protein with natural ingredients like coconut oil, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, and rice protein. After just one use, my hair was much more soft and sleek, and my natural waves were much more defined.

When it came to taming frizz and boosting shine, the Coconut Milk Moisturizing Serum helped to further smooth and hydrate my strands. It has a very rich yet lightweight texture that when used properly doesn't weigh hair down. Even better, the luxurious coconut scent is so, well, luxurious. They have several different hair care collections; like repairing Moroccan Argan Oil and Kelp Scalp Renewal. All of the Purezero Natural Hair Care collections are free of all sulfates, parabens, gluten, phosphates, phthalates and dyes. Available at Whole Foods, CVS, and Target (and with items priced under $10 and even under $5), this brand provides such an affordable clean hair care line!

The splurge item I tried this month was from Pronto Luxe Beauty. They offer 100% vegan, all natural, and cruelty-free skincare that is packaged in recyclable materials. From their Blue Tansy Dream Hydrating Balm to their Botanical Island Exfoliating Instant Facial, they carry such a unique and carefully-crafted facial care line. Stay tuned for a full review when I get to test the entire Pronto Luxe Beauty line later this season!

I did get to go ahead and test their Cleansing Oil - Nourishing Blemish Cleanser. I'm a huge fan of double cleansing and especially like using a cleansing oil. It's such a great way to remove makeup, dirt, and grime while maintaining moisture. This Pronto Luxe cleansing oil is made with a blend of Grapeseed Oil, Baobab Oil, and Rosehip Oil; each known for their ability to detoxify, hydrate, and balance the skin. Essential oils of jasmine and grapefruit add such an uplifting and energizing scent, while lavender and patchouli add a lovely relaxing fragrance. I absolutely love that this can also double as a hydrating and balancing facial oil. As large and long-lasting as the bottle is, it really is quite affordable. If you prefer all-natural skincare, I highly recommend Pronto Luxe!

If you follow my blog or Instagram regularly, you are no stranger to L'BRI PURE n' NATURAL, as I frequently talk about how much I love their skincare and makeup products. I wanted to mention a few of my recent faves when it comes to their makeup. My absolute favorite eyeliner this entire year has been the L'BRI Velvet Touch Retractable Eyeliner in Black. It goes on smoothly like a kohl liner but with the staying power of a liquid liner! It has enabled me to create a beautiful smokey eye in just a few minutes! I simply draw on a thick line halfway up the lids and from the inner corner to the outer corner. Then I take a finger tip back and forth over the liner until it is blended and softened. It's a must-have makeup pick with Fall and the holidays coming up!

My other must-have makeup pick at L'BRI is their Flawless Finish Foundation. It has truly been my favorite foundation this year. It provides such a buildable and flawless coverage. In fact, every time I post a selfie lately, I get compliments about my "flawless skin" to which I always reply that it's thanks to the L'BRI Flawless Finish Foundation! It comes in so many different shades, and you can order a variety pack of Foundation Samples in your color range, so you can find your perfect shade. Foundations typically make me break out and upset my eye allergies, but the Flawless Finish Foundation is so gentle on my skin. You'll definitely want to shop around at L'BRI PURE n' NATURAL if you need effective yet gentle makeup this upcoming Fall season. I can't wait to share a tutorial featuring their brand new Autumn eye shadow palette!
